Chief Olabintan Famutimi attended the prestigious University of Ibadan from 1968 – 1971 and bagged a B.Sc (Honors) in Geography/Geomorphology. He also has an Advanced Management Certificate from the Institute European d’Administration Des Affairs (INSEAD) Fontainebleau, France. Chief Famutimi is an astute administrator, manager, and ingenious entrepreneur, who started his career as a research assistant at Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER) and worked for multinationals such as The Hawker Siddeley Engineering Company UK, United African Company (U.A.C) PLC, R.T. Briscoe Nigeria Division, Pfizer Products Company PLC, Boots Company Nigeria PLC. He has served in various leadership capacities and has distinguished himself in various industries; so much so, he was recognized and decorated with a honorary fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
Chief Famutimi has close links with the expatriate and diplomatic community and is a member of various institutions and elite societies in Nigeria and beyond. Some of his affiliations include the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), Nigerian Institute of Management, Association of Nigerian Exporters, Institute European d’Administration Des Affairs (INSEAD) Alumni Association and Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Institute of Directors.
He is the immediate past president of Nigeria America Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman/Managing Director of Beeb Holdings Ltd, Chairman of Capital Heritage Nigeria Limited to mention a few. Since 1993, he has been a director with Goldlink Insurance PLC, one of the largest insurance underwriters in Nigeria. He is also a director of the Orion Shipping Company Limited and of the Nigerian Petroleum Club.
